Fostering!

Want some animal companionship? Fostering could be perfect for you! Fosters provide temporary loving homes for shelter animals!Fostering is a fantastic way for college students to help out :)All Paws In wants to make this process as accessible as possible, so if you are interested, fill out the brief form below! You will be added to an email list and contacted by Emma, our lovely fostering coordinator!

For more info on what it's like to be a foster, see our FAQ section!

FAQs!Do I need to apply or be trained to become a foster?
Yes! After you fill out the form above you will be contacted with more detailed information about the training process. Typically this entails completing a series of brief online training modules.
What support/resources will the shelter provide me with during my time as a foster?
The shelter will provide you with food, supplies, and payment for any vet care needed. If you are unable to drive yourself to the shelter to pick up these things, volunteers can typically drop them off for you.
What animals can I foster?
Currently, fosters are needed for cats, dogs, and other small animals.
What kind of time commitment is needed to be a foster?
Time commitment varies and your preferences will be noted during the application process! Younger animals or those with medical conditions will be especially time-consuming and are typically given to more experienced fosters. Most others are a rather low commitment! All they need is a home and some love-- food and water too.
How long will I be a foster?
A typical foster animal will be with you for 2-4 weeks. After this time range passes, you may choose to continue to be available to the shelter as a foster for other animals. There is also an occasional need for temp fosters, who will look after an animal for a few days to a week.
If you have any other pressing questions feel free to email Emma!
